Who is this guy?

I’ve been trying to figuring that out for a long time. What I do know is that my purpose on this blue marble is to create moving images. Moving in both senses of the word. That’s the only vocation that gives my any satisfaction. What’s my why… my purpose? It’s a sincere appreciation of the little things in life— the perfect natural light falling through a window, that look on her face, a frame composed just right— and then, diligently working and training to be able to capture and recreate those moments.

After studying art academically for nearly a decade, I pursued filmmaking through the University of Texas at Austin’s film school where I gained acceptance into the elite film program called the Intensive Production Sequence.  There, I concentrated on cinematography and pushed myself into several internships beginning with my first year in film school.

After graduating in 2000, I started working as a camera assistant beginning with the feature film Spy Kids.  Over the next 5 years I freelanced as a Production Assistant and 2nd Assistant Cameraman/Loader on national commercials and Hollywood blockbusters. During that time, I shot several shorts, music videos and documentaries.

Since 2005, I’ve been lucky enough to work in-house as a director/DP at a few different companies. I’ve definitely gotten my 10,000 hours shooting interviews, but I have also shot commercials, short films and worked on a few documentaries. In 2013, I was happy to come onboard with Insperity, where I manage video production, shooting most of the content, including broadcast commercials, promos and testimonials. When I don't feel like coming up for air, I’ll shoot short films, documentaries or marketing videos for fun and interesting clients.
